The Beginning

Hoppmann Audio Visual began in 1955 as the communications division of Hoppmann Corporation (now Shibuya Hoppmann). Hoppmann Corporation was founded by Kurt Hoppmann, an entrepreneur with a brilliant engineering mind and a broad thinker with a keen sense of business.Although the core business was in the design and construction of production machinery for the packaging and consumer product markets, Hoppmann Corporation’s successful track record of unsurpassed engineering led to the creation of the communications division for the design and installation of audio visual systems.

Through the Years

As the company grew, so too did Mr. Hoppmann’s interest in expanding the communications division into the global marketplace. After primarily specializing in teleconferencing and display presentation systems for educational and local government facilities, Hoppmann soon gained recognition as a global leader in the design, integration and installation of command and control facilities for military and government installations.

In 1992, seizing the opportunity to continually expand and diversify, Hoppmann Corporation formed a wholly owned subsidiary called Hoppmann Communications Corporation (HCC). Charles W. Wheeler, HCC President, determined that since HCC’s presence had been firmly established in the government market, the time had come to actively pursue opportunities in the commercial market as well. In 1994, Mr. Wheeler purchased HCC. HCC does business as Hoppmann Audio Visual.

Today

Hoppmann Audio Visual is now recognized as a premier audio visual and video conferencing design/build firm not only in the Washington DC metropolitan region but across the United States and the global marketplace.
